John 3:1–21

Introduction

Tonight, we journey into one of the most profound conversations recorded in Scripture—a meeting between Jesus and Nicodemus. Nicodemus was aPharisee, a member of the Jewish ruling council, respected for hisknowledge and position. Yet, he came to Jesus at night, seeking answers to questions that troubled his soul.

Ellen G White writes from Desire of Ages (p. 171) A New Heart Comes

Nicodemus had come to the Lord thinking to enter into a discussion withHim, but Jesus laid bare the foundation principles of truth. He said toNicodemus, it is not theological knowledge you need so much as spiritualregeneration. You need not to have your curiosity satisfied, but to have anew heart. You must receive a new life from above before you canappreciate heavenly things. Until this change takes place, making all thingsnew, it will result in no saving good for you to discuss with Me My authority or My mission.

Story:

A woman shared her testimony: “I grew up in church, knew all therituals, but my heart was unchanged. One day, I realized I needed more than religion—I needed a new heart. I prayed for God’s Spirit to renew me, and my life was transformed. Old habits faded, new  desires grew. I was truly ‘born again’”.
