Study of John 1:35-50

There are several themes that John develops in his account of Jesus calling his disciples which we can study and develop a stronger relationship with Jesus:

· Seek the Savior – What are you seeking?

· What is your role? – to spread the Word.

· Jesus already knows me – how well do I know Him?

· Do I recognize Jesus as the Son of God and King?

· Jesus envisions to future for all of us – that we will see heaven open and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of Man.

What joy and gratitude do we exhibit because of our experiencing Jesus in our lives? We will be motivated to witness about Jesus to others as we grow in knowing Him as our Savior. Consider how you develop friends – you spend time, you talk, you share and you learn what they value and believe. The same is true in knowing Jesus – the more we learn of His love, grace and mercy, the more attuned we will be to His will for us. Jesus knows our hearts and understands us. We need only ask Him and He will give us what we need to strengthen us in Him.

Praise God for giving us His Son, Jesus.
